surprise baby!

By Anya Wait | December 22, 2008

And right before Christmas, too. I had not planned on photographing this baby for another couple of weeks, but apparently she had other plans for everyone involved 🙂 She is obviously very loved by everyone in her family. Including her 20 month old brother who had a lot of fun with the “hugs” and “smooshings”. In a few minutes (literally) the insanity is going to begin in the Wait home. One house. Two parents. All 8 children. Early adulthood mixed with teenage emotions mixed with toddler demands. Can we survive it? Can they? Stay tuned…..

happy happy joy joy….

By Anya Wait | December 13, 2008

It makes me sooooo very happy when I get at least one good image of a 3 year old with mama’s belly. Granted, some of the image is missing because it is an in-camera crop and there was limited room, but as long as the emotion is there, I am happy! Speaking of children, does anyone else out there have a “Mr. Nobody” in their house? Because honestly, Mr. Nobody is a really pain in the @$$. He pees on my floor, draws on my tv, and makes people throw things randomly at people. I really wish he would find somewhere else to go. Right now he is spending and awful lot of time in the naughty spot right next to my 5 year old.

Glow

By Anya Wait | December 10, 2008

One of the things I love about pregnant and postpartum mom’s is they just glow. Inside and out. Once again, I am way too caffeinated for words….my right eye is twitching and I am literally running a marathon inside my head. I am so busy leading up to Christmas that I may single handedly bring up Starbuck’s profits to record levels! It’s raining babies, hellelujah! 🙂 **note** still using photobucket to upload images…..oh Shane!!! where is my geek when I need him?????? 🙂 ~xo Anya

rock a bye…and goodnight…

By Anya Wait | December 7, 2008

go to sleep little baby (pretty please…with sugar on top). I spent my Saturday with this little 2 week old sweet man. And when I say my Saturday, I do mean my Saturday…LOL! He was in it for the long haul. Good thing I was too. This image is one (of the many) of my fave’s from this session.

my little skater man gets a haircut…

By Anya Wait | December 4, 2008

It has been a long time coming, but Rowan finally got a haircut! We have had a difficult time at the prospect of cutting his gorgeous little curly blonde locks. But daddy kept mentioning (ROUTINELY….the way he does…..) that Rowan needed a haircut. So one afternoon while daddy was away, I took a snip to the little curly tail Rowan had going on in the back of his head. I saved it, ready to put a little ribbon around it to go in a box, all cute and curly. I was so proud of myself! When daddy arrived home I proudly said, “Look, I cut Rowan’s hair”….thinking daddy was going to be all impressed with my bravery. Well, he wasn’t. I swear, I thought he was going to start bawling his head off right there…. “You did what? Why didn’t you wait for me”??? he asked. “Uhhhhhhh…..well, ummmm…..because I thought it was bothering you”. I replied. “But I wanted to at least BE THERE”….he says. Needless to say, I felt like the worlds biggest turd the rest of the day. So when it was time to set up Rowan for his haircut appointment, I stayed behind. I did not go…

a couple more from last week's newborn

By Anya Wait | November 30, 2008

Well, I can’t post my absolute fave image from this session yet because it went on their birth announcement. So I will just have to wait until after I know they have all been sent out and received. What I love about babies is they all come with their own little distinct personalities and expressions. Isn’t he a silly little goose? What came of an “out-take” While trying to get him to settle….

Thankful . . .

By Anya Wait | November 28, 2008

I have so many things to be thankful for. But today, as I work on people’s galleries, announcements, coffee table books, etc… I am thankful that so many people allow me into their homes to document one of the most memorable and magical times in their lives. Look who I got to spend my Wednesday morning with… More very soon! xo Anya

I'm back!

By Anya Wait | November 24, 2008

*whew* After a week of re-doing my website, having my blog re-hosted elsewhere, dealing with sick children, driving my son to Iowa….I am back! Just in time to figure out what the heck I am going to cook for Thanksgiving. yay. Although I do love the eating part, and I do love the cooking part, it is the planning and the cleaning up part that I think sucks. And since I am a little lacking in the humor department today (sorry), I will post a couple of images from yesterday’s maternity session. Gorgeous belly, gorgeous mama, and I cannot wait to meet the gorgeous little baby inside 🙂 On a side note….sorry ’bout the Photobucket tag….my image uploader is having issues and the only way I seem to be able to load an image is to have it hosted off site. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Calgon, take me away!

Don't cry for me Argentina | Website Issues

By Anya Wait | November 17, 2008

I was going to title this post, “Are you there Vodka? It’s me, Anya”, but then I thought, hmmmmm……that is the title of Chelsea Handler’s new book so that doesn’t sound THAT original… Sooooo, here is the deal. My website appears to be gone. As in GONE. As in good-bye old friend. Nice to have known you. It is a long complicated story and I won’t go into the gory details. Needless to say, I have considered taking up drinking as a new hobby…and one of my clients offered up some buttered rum 🙂 For right now, please bear (or is it bare? Wait, no, please don’t do THAT… lol) with me while I deal with this issue. And potentially build a new site from the bottom up. I am going to be including pricing and other info on my blog asap…. If you would like to contact me for a session, please email or phone me at the following numbers: hipmamaphotos@gmail.com 608-347-6672 Session Fees are as follows: Newborn/baby/toddler: $150 Maternity/newborn combo: $225
