Don’t you just love images that tell a story? This is one of the many reasons I absolutely love capturing newborns in client homes. In the photo below you see mama holding her sweet new baby. If you look to the left of her there is an image of her holding big sister while she was pregnant with this little one.

Above her head on top of the stack of lovely books is her pregnancy announcement. And here she is rocking her new baby in the nursery of big sister. Photographs in your home allow your newborn session to document who you are as the family you are becoming welcoming your new little one into this world.

Your front porch is such a great place in the summer to capture your new baby and growing family! I also find that older toddler siblings enjoy it as well. I was even able to get her to smile AND kiss the baby. SCORE!

The living room is another great place to capture relaxed family images. You spend so much time here as a family, it belongs in your story.

For the final part of our session, I typically move on to what I like to call the “beanbag” portion. This is where I get to hang out with your baby and discover their personality. I focus on what is called baby-led posing, and never move your baby into any positions that are not natural for them.
